Aang lay awake, so content on a warm summer night that he didn't want to sleep. Why would he ever want to close his eyes and escape into some dream when he had the most amazing woman right here in his arms, snuggled up against him. He didn't dare move out of fear of ruining the moment.
Unfortunately, someone else happened to think it was a grand idea.
Tiny groans and whimpers started coming from a large basket on the far side of the bedroom, whose occupant started fumbling with the blankets.
Please go back to sleep, Kamala. Please go back to sleep! Aang prayed.
But she didn't. Her little whimpers turned into a wail. And just as he feared, the sound triggered her mother's maternal instinct. Katara was immediately awake and starting to sit up.
But Aang gently put a hand on her arm and smiled at her. "I'll get this."
"Are you sure?" she asked, as she always did. But her eyes were already starting to droop again.
"Yeah." he kissed the corner of her mouth. "Go back to sleep." he said as he got up.
Katara smiled warmly at him and laid down to do as he suggested, but she lazily watched him in admiration.
He tenderly scooped up the infant, murmuring softly, and her cries started to lessen right away. He then kissed her forehead before laying her on a mat to change her diaper.
As usual, Katara's heart melted. In the year he spent with her tribe, she remembered the other women being stunned when Aang would jump in and assist them with the babies. Or the laundry or the cooking, for that matter. The men of the tribe traditionally refused, since they found it beneath them, prefering to hunt or work on things more "manly".
Sokka had teased him about it, saying that they would never catch him changing a diaper. That is, until Suki beat him up once or twice after their son was born.
When Aang was finished cleaning her up, he washed his hands and took some berries from a fruit bowl and put them in a dish. Using clean water, he used waterbending to mash them into a sauce. And there he sat against the wall, baby in one arm, and the other patiently bending bits of the food to her mouth. Looking for all the world like the most content man in the universe.
Katara's eyes drooped more as her heart overflowed with love. With the knowledge that her baby was in good hands, she relaxed enough to fall back into slumber.
When she awoke, daylight was filling the room. Finding the bed empty next to her, she sat up and found her husband still with his back propped against the wall, dozing. And he still had Kamala in his arm, resting on his lap. She got up and crouched down next to him. With a hand on his shoulder, he perked up, blinked at her, and smiled.
"Were you up with her all night?"
"She wouldn't let me put her down." he explained.
Katara had to chuckle. "Can't say I blame her." she said as she snuggled her way under his free arm and leaned against him.
Aang didn't have the heart to tell Katara that his legs were cramped and his arm with the baby had fallen asleep. He wouldn't disturb this moment for the world. His family. His home. His loves. All he needed in this world was in his arms.

Kataang Week Day 7 -Continued...-
LES1: Well, here it is. The final day of Kataang Week. The main theme of this particular story is something that I think a good portion of the fandom has forgotten with The Legend of Korra: that even though Aang has passed and Kataang is not in the series, Kataang lives forever. As I've always said, no matter how much or how little they show of Aang and Katara's relationship in flashback in Korra, even if they show none at all, I will be happy in the knowledge that they were happily married for so long. And, without further ado, here is the final day!
The day has come when our Aang and Katara have children, many cute family moments. Or the d

Day VI: Marriage and Adulthood
The Reception
It was a beautiful fall day on the new Air Temple Island that was just off the coast of the newly-under-construction Republic City. The city was functional, but nowhere near completion. The Air Temple, however, was much simpler in design and, with an army of Earthbenders and the Avatar to assist in the construction, the Air Temple had been finished weeks before its deadline. As it turned out, it was finished just in time to become the

Kataang- In My Arms
With the weight of Aang's head on my shoulder, I was slightly comforted. I always felt better when he was with me. He was going to be alright, but it would take him a while to get him totally healthy again. The Earth Kingdom had fallen. How were we supposed to invade the Fire Nation now? At least we had the Earth King. He could do something, right?
I rested my head on Aang's and realized how tired I really was. I had fought with all the strength I had left, and healing Aang had really taken a lot out of me. I had to stay awake, though. I had to find help. But where? The Earth Kingdom would quickly be infiltrated by Fire Nation soldiers. We c
